Presently, our research activity focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular details of physiologic and pathologic mechanisms on 4 distinct research topics:
- Gut microbiota products involved in the development of Parkinson's disease
- Skeletal muscle regeneration in normal and dystrophic muscle
- Cancer research: epigenetic changes at histone tails induced by unsaturated fatty acids and the in vitro study of certain biological compounds derived from plants and their interaction with different types of cancer cells
